Australian singer-songwriter Justin Davies is making a powerful first impression with his debut single, “Unforgettable Days,” arriving next month. The track, a glimpse into his forthcoming full-length album, showcases a voice at once tender, reflective, and unforgettable.
Recorded at Poons Head Studio with Grammy-nominated producer Rob Grant, the track features an all-star lineup including drummer Malcolm Clark and bassist Jay Cortez (both formerly of The Sleepy Jackson) and members of the West Australian Symphony Orchestra. Vintage analog gear—used on classics by Jimi Hendrix and The Beatles—lends a warm, timeless feel to the soaring, emotionally charged single.
“‘Unforgettable Days’ is about lost love, but also about those moments that stay with you forever,” Davies says. “The afternoons in the sun, the quiet comfort of being together, the joy and heartache all wrapped into one. It’s nostalgic, hopeful, and bittersweet all at once.”
Davies didn’t set out to be a musician. A successful entrepreneur and philanthropist, he found himself drawn to music following the tragic loss of a loved one decades ago. In 2023, a chance encounter with a guitar at a local shop sparked his journey. Despite being a beginner, he quickly discovered a natural gift for songwriting, channeling years of grief and longing into music that connects deeply.
“Without the sadness and searching, I wouldn’t have found the songs inside me,” he says. “Unforgettable Days isn’t complicated, but it’s the best thing I’ve ever done.”
With its lush baroque-pop textures, heartfelt lyrics, and aching melodies, “Unforgettable Days” announces Justin Davies as a singer-songwriter to watch. It’s music that turns personal loss into universal emotion—an unforgettable debut for a voice that’s just finding its wings.
